Elisa Strozyk

Wood, textiles & dyes

The work of Strozyk is the refined outcome of an ongoing investigation into the three-dimensionality of surfaces and their tactile materiality. Through continuously pushing these boundaries and exploring the spaces in-between them, the artist has created a medium that is altogether new and unfamiliar.

Predominantly working with her ‘Wooden Textiles’, Strozyk’s artworks are a hybrid between wood marquetry and textile art. The interplay between the rigidity of wood and the fluidity of woven textiles challenges the viewer’s pre-conceptions of materiality and offers new possibilities for textile art.
