David Knowles

Founder & Creative Director

David has dedicated his career to working with and supporting contemporary artists. Prior to founding Atelier, he pioneered several Arts Council England-funded galleries and projects that continue to prosper emerging artists and young curators.

With a Masters in Fine Art, David is trained in art research, production and critique. As a specialist art advisor for leading international exhibitions, such as Noor Riyadh, and guest lecturing at European universities, he is recognised for his marketing knowledge and curatorial experience.

Lucy is a highly personable individual with a truly international outlook. Having studied at Universities in the UK, France, and Spain, she is a natural-born linguist who speaks four languages.

Lucy has nearly 20 years’ experience working as Client Director for multinational corporations as well as a representative for private clients. At Artelier, Lucy has built up a discreet network of private and corporate clients through providing our trusted art advisory services.

Ella holds a BA in History & French from King's College London, complemented by a year of international study focused on History of Art at the University of Montréal.

Proficient in both English and French, her multifaceted career spans research, curation, and editorial assistance, drawing from diverse experiences in startups, galleries, museums, and interior design. Notably, Ella has worked with esteemed companies like Vinterior and Nelly Duff, where she's honed her skills in web design, data analysis, and marketing strategies.

Océane has trained in the UK and Florence, Italy, under world class artists specialised in printmaking, classical drawing & painting. This, combined with her experience working in the museum sector, has given her a deep understanding of the artistic process.

Océane is passionate about working with artists and has specialist experience in collaborating with artists for the company’s curatorial and editorial projects.

Calypso is a History of Art graduate from the University of Bristol.

Active in all art scenes, not only does she have practical, hands-on experience from independent art retailers, but she also passionately advocates for women and minority recognition in the art world, such as fostering a women's art circle in Bristol.

At Artelier, Calypso conducts contextual art research which supports both the the company's curatorial projects, as well as providing critical thinking for our essays on art and culture.

With a MA in Interior Design from ENSAAMA Paris, Marie brings a wealth of global influences to the team, having worked in Paris, Copenhagen, and London.

With a portfolio spanning across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, Marie leads Artelier's creative journey, from concept to meticulous design, leveraging her interior design and curation skills to bring clients' unique visions to life. In close collaboration with Project Management and Operations, she ensures flawless execution while upholding her role as a dedicated curator.

Since earning her Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Inscape Design College in South Africa in 2013, Erin has devoted her career to luxury interior design.

At Artelier, her expertise is overseeing the entire artistic journey, from conceptualisation and detailed design to the creation of technical drawings. Erin is also skilled at collaborating closely with fellow artists, nurturing in-house art concepts, fostering artistic growth, and continuously discovering new talent within the curation landscape.

Alice is a highly organised and professional individual who brings to the role over 10 years’ experience within the gallery and museums sector, as well as commercial project management.

Responsible for large-scale hospitality project management, Alice is experienced in managing budgets, onsite deliverables and liaising with clients through every step. She has particular experience working in Europe and the Middle East.

Talia is a practicing artist and holds both a BA (Hons) in Fashion Design, from Falmouth University and a MSc in Fashion Marketing Management, from Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Talia has a versatile skillset, working closely with artists and diverse client teams alike to provide essential project management and curatorial support. Notably, Talia has experience of working internationally with multiple teams and stake holder on our GCC projects, such as being the lead artist liaison and project manager for the largest light festival in the world, Noor Riyadh.

Chris has accumulated more than 25 years of experience in the interior industry, commencing his career in the lighting and decorative arts sector before transitioning to a specialisation in antiques and fine art.

Throughout his professional journey, Chris has had the privilege of collaborating with some of the most esteemed art dealers, interior designers, and stately homes in the country.
