Directors


David Knowles
Founder & Creative Director
David has dedicated his career to working with and supporting contemporary artists. Prior to founding Artelier, he pioneered several Arts Council England-funded galleries and projects that continue to prosper emerging artists and young curators.
​
With a Masters in Fine Art, David is trained in art research, production and critique. As a specialist art advisor for leading international exhibitions, such as Noor Riyadh, and as a guest lecturer at European universities, he is recognised for his art market knowledge and curatorial experience.
Lucy Clark
Commercial Director
Lucy is a highly personable individual with a truly international outlook. Having studied at Universities in the UK, France, and Spain, she is a natural-born linguist who speaks four languages.
Lucy has nearly 20 years’ experience working as Client Director for multinational corporations as well as a representative for private clients. At Artelier, Lucy has built up a discreet network of private and corporate clients through providing our trusted art advisory services.
Concept Development & Research



Alina Young
Senior Curator (Public Art & Exhibitions)
A practiced curator, Alina specialises in public realm commissions, as well as curating public exhibitions. With a MA in History of Design from Oxford University, Alina is a trained researcher dedicated to craft practices.
Her diverse career includes curating for galleries, art sales, and consulting for exhibitions and public art projects. Alina's commitment to celebrating makers leads her to regularly interview artists and write for publications. She is based in London.
Ella Forster
Senior Curator, Art Research & Editorial
Ella holds a BA (Hons) in History & French from King's College London, complemented by a year of international study focused on History of Art at the University of Montréal.
With a portfolio spanning across Europe, Canada, and the Middle East, Ella's diverse career includes startups, galleries, museums, and interior design. At Artelier, Ella leads the marketing and editorial team with an eye for aesthetics and branding. She also manages Artelier's artist estate projects.
Calypso Lyhne-Gold
Curator, Art Research & Editorial
With a BA (Hons) in History of Art from the University of Bristol, Calypso also has experience in B2B/B2C art sales and artist management. She has curated award-winning exhibitions, organised Dulwich Picture Gallery tours, written for top galleries, and runs weekly women's art groups in Bristol.
At Artelier, Calypso conducts art research, supports curation, enhances SEO marketing, and contributes insights to essays on art and culture.

Cathy Boyd
Studio Director
With 25 years in the interior design industry, Cathy brings extensive experience in delivering luxury projects. Her work includes high-end homes, five-star hotels, and bespoke superyachts. Her expertise is in FF&E specification, project management, and procurement.

Cathy also holds a BA in Textile Design & Surface Pattern, which supports her ability to combine creative vision with practical execution—essential for curating refined, detail-driven art collections.
Marie Boutignon
Senior Curator, Design & Styling
With a MA in Interior Design from ENSAAMA Paris, Marie brings a wealth of global influences to the team, having worked in Paris, Copenhagen, and London.

With a portfolio spanning across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, Marie leads Artelier's creative journey, from concept to meticulous design, leveraging her interior design and curation skills to bring clients' unique visions to life. In close collaboration with Project Management and Operations, she ensures flawless execution while upholding her role as a dedicated curator.
Erin Endres
Senior Curator, Design & Styling
Since earning her BA (Hons) in Interior Design from Inscape Design College in South Africa in 2013, Erin has devoted her career to luxury interior design.

At Artelier, her expertise is overseeing the entire artistic journey, from conceptualisation and detailed design to the creation of technical drawings. Erin is also skilled at collaborating closely with fellow artists, nurturing in-house art concepts, fostering artistic growth, and continuously discovering new talent within the curation landscape.
Operations



Alice Voss
Project Director & Curator
Alice brings over 10 years’ experience in galleries, museums, and commercial project management. With a BA (Hons) in Fine Art, she is a practicing artist, with completed residencies in Argentina, UK and Belgium.

With particular experience in Europe and the Middle East, she is responsible for large-scale hospitality project management, with experience managing budgets, onsite deliverables, and liaising with clients from start to finish.
Talia Hacker
Project Manager & Curator
Talia is a practicing artist and holds both a BA (Hons) in Fashion Design, from Falmouth University and a MSc in Fashion Marketing Management, from Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Talia is skilled in project management and curatorial support, working with artists and client teams. She has international experience, notably as lead artist liaison and project manager for GCC projects and Noor Riyadh, the world's largest light festival.
Madeleine Young
Assistant Project Manager & Art Researcher
Madeleine graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA (Hons) in Art History and Visual Culture in 2021. She has experience in museums, artist studios, and commercial art galleries.
At Hauser and Wirth Somerset, she presented public talks on exhibiting artists such as Ida Applebroog and Henry Moore. At Artelier, Madeleine assists the project management team, supports marketing development and contributes to artist and client research.

Momir Vladisavkjevic
Head Art Technician
From Riyadh to Miyakojima, Momir oversees the installation of investment-grade exhibitions and luxury hotel collections worldwide.

With a strong background in museum and gallery operations across Europe, Momir brings expert knowledge of fine art handling, installation logistics, and collection care—ensuring every project is executed to the highest standards.
Elliot Steele
Art Technician
Elliot holds a BA (Hons) in Illustration and a Master’s in Printmaking. Formerly Spike Print Studios’ technical manager, he teaches printmaking and collaborates with private clients and institutions like Spike Island and Arnolfini.

Joining Artelier in 2024, Elliot specialises in artwork packing, condition reporting, and client projects, leveraging his meticulous approach and expertise to ensure international shipping excellence.
Chris Bennett
Art Technician & Logistics
Chris has accumulated more than 25 years of experience in the interior industry, commencing his career in the lighting and decorative arts sector before transitioning to a specialisation in antiques and fine art.

Throughout his professional journey, Chris has had the privilege of collaborating with some of the most esteemed art dealers, interior designers, and stately homes across the country, honing his expertise and building a reputation for excellence in the field.

A highly capable project curator & manager, Laura is experienced in in diverse design sectors – interiors, exhibitions & furniture – & has a keen eye for fine art.
Basil Al Arrayed
GCC Associate
Basil brings 25 years of expertise in managing art commissioning projects, paired with in-depth knowledge of the GCC region, including Qatar, Riyadh, and Dubai. His multilingual skills and local presence enhance the team’s capabilities on-site.
