Fay McCaul

Textiles & glass

McCaul’s artworks combine modern materials with traditional textile techniques to create intricate hand-crafted surfaces. The artist re-invents the traditional techniques of knitting and weaving, as well as incorporating contemporary approaches, such as working with glass infused with textiles.

Often working large-scale in architectural contexts, McCaul’s works take on a site-specific and dynamic role for interiors. A key element of the artworks is their relationship to light: within the design of each piece is a subtle focus on how light interact with the artwork's surface, both through reflection and filtered translucency.
