Claire Burke
Gold leaf, ink & pigment
Claire Burke creates abstract paintings that explore the chromatic and translucent effects of paint and gold leaf, while simultaneously accentuating textural qualities and intricate layering.
The colour-infused, mysterious and carefully arranged grids form an aesthetic dialogue that refers to natural and man-made surfaces. Burke’s paintings shimmer and exude a luminous aura that bathes the viewer and invokes a moment for contemplation.
